Cranial Adjusments
The human skull is comprised of 22 bones that are joined together with sutures. It was discovered in the mid 70’s that there is a space between the bones in the skull that contains a blood supply, nerve supply and connective tissue. It was also discovered that there is a rhythm of movement between each of the cranial bones. Although the sutures cannot be pulled apart, the bones in the skull can be knocked out of their proper alignment.
Extensive scientific cranial mapping has been done that establishes what parts of the brain control which functions. When a cranial misalignment occurs certain areas of the brain will have decreased blood flow and decreased cerebral spinal
fluid (CSF) flow. Proper blood supply and CSF flow are essential to maintaining a healthy brain. The onset of health problems may be the result of an injury to the head.
Misalignment of the cranial bones, known as Cranial Subluxations can be caused by any impact to a person’s head during their lifetime including the birth process. Cranial adjustments restore alignment to the bones in the head and face through precise pressure applied by the doctor’s hands over or near the junctions (sutures) of the bones. This cranial adjustment technique is effective in removing the pressure on the brain caused by cranial subluxations. Removal of cranial subluxations can improve people's lives in areas such as memory, sleep patterns and behaviours.
Who would benefit from Cranial Adjustments?
Anyone that has suffered any kind of trauma to the head should be examined for misalignments in the cranial bones, especially if the injured person experiences unrelated health problems after a head injury.
Cranial adjusting can benefit those people with:
Headaches
ADD/ADHD
Migraines
Post Consussion Syndrome
Learning Difficulties
Fibromyalgia
Behaviour Issues
What to Expect
The cranial adjustment is done by hand and moves the bones in the skull back towards their proper place, taking the pressure off the brain in order to restore function. The energy used is a light pressure force applied in the specific and concise direction to correct the position of misaligned cranial bones. The cranial contact is held for 5 to 6 seconds. Cranial adjustments take
time and repetition. In some cases toxins and emotions can be released as part of the healing process. These are normal effects of the adjustments. Occasionally, there may be a little uncomfortable feeling before it gets better. This is temporary in order to get to the next stage, where the symptoms start reversing and healing can occur.
Note: We are correcting cranial misalignments, not treating specific conditions.
